Variety reported that Bradley Cooper, Ayo Edebiri, Dave Bautista, Finn Wolfhard, Alex Jayne Go, Rachel House, and Werner Herzog have joined the voice cast of 'Ally.' These performers will provide voices for characters in the animated film.

According to Variety, the story follows Ally, a piglet squid living in the South Pacific. Her world changes after a mysterious aircraft sinks into the ocean near her home. The narrative centers on this character as the unexpected event alters the environment around her.

Bong Joon Ho co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Yu, Deadline reported. The production is being overseen by Barunson C&C. Financing and distribution are being handled by CJ ENM, Penture Invest, and Pathé. Neon has acquired the North American distribution rights to the film, Variety reported. Neon is reuniting with Bong Joon Ho after previously releasing 'Parasite' in North America.

The film is slated for completion in the first half of 2027, Variety reported. A theatrical release is planned for later that year.

Neon is continuing its relationship with Bong Joon Ho through this new project. Variety reported that the distributor is reuniting with the filmmaker after releasing 'Parasite' in North America. Neon acquired the North American rights to 'Ally' and will distribute the animated film in that region.
