The Northeast Corridor Commission has released a new website designed to help FIFA World Cup 2026 fans and visitors navigate the Northeast region's extensive rail network. The site, available at ne-rail-guide.com, serves as a centralized planning resource for travelers heading to matches and other major events scheduled for summer 2026.
The Details
The website provides essential information to help travelers plan trips across the Northeast Corridor to reach FIFA World Cup matches and other major summer 2026 events. Those events include America 250 celebrations marking the nation's 250th anniversary, Sail 250 events, and the MLB All-Star Game.
Visitors to ne-rail-guide.com will find detailed information about Northeast Corridor intercity and regional rail services and their operators. The site includes an overview of major summer 2026 events, directions on how to use rail and local transit services, a clickable Rail Services graphic, and a frequently asked questions section. These features are intended to help both domestic and international visitors understand their transit options across the region and coordinate travel between multiple cities during a crowded summer calendar.
The Northeast Corridor stretches from Washington, D.C., to Boston, Massachusetts. Amtrak intercity trains and eight regional rail providers operate more than 2,000 trains on the corridor, carrying nearly 700,000 riders each weekday. That volume makes the corridor a critical piece of transportation infrastructure for the region, and officials are positioning it as a central travel option for the expected surge of visitors in 2026.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Multiple matches will be held in Northeast Corridor cities, including New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Boston. With the tournament spanning multiple host cities, rail connections between those locations are expected to see increased demand from fans traveling between matches and related events.
Mitch Warren, Executive Director of the Northeast Corridor Commission, said the corridor will play a vital role in moving fans efficiently between host cities, game-related events, and the matches themselves. "As the Northeast prepares to welcome visitors for the World Cup and commemorate America's 250th birthday, this guide is a valuable tool to help travelers take full advantage of the region's extensive rail network," Warren said.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy said the Department of Transportation is working closely with Amtrak and its commuter railroad partners throughout the NEC to deliver a world-class experience for millions of visitors. "As we prepare to host the FIFA World Cup Games, safety remains our top priority," Duffy said.
FRA Administrator and NEC Commission Co-chair David Fink said millions of passengers will count on trains in the Northeast to run on time. "So they can take part in America's incredible 250th celebrations and the World Cup matches," Fink said.
Amtrak President Roger Harris said the company is excited to welcome soccer fans from across the globe as they cheer on their teams and travel between cities in the Northeast. "We're proud to work alongside the Northeast Corridor Commission and our NEC rail partners to develop this helpful tool and deliver a successful summer of rail travel," Harris said.
NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri said New Jersey will host eight matches, including the Final. "We recognize that delivering a seamless, reliable, and efficient travel experience will be essential to the success of this global event," Kolluri said.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with Northeast Corridor cities such as New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Boston serving as host locations for tournament matches. Officials anticipate millions of visitors will travel through the region for the World Cup and related events.
